This IDC study evaluates the leading application deployment software vendors in the Americas by eight vertical industries: financial services, manufacturing, retail/wholesale, communications and media, utilities, healthcare, government, and "other" industries.

Noel Stevens, senior analyst, Software Vertical Views, states, "The financial services industry held the largest share of the application deployment software revenue in 2005 of the eight industries, while the healthcare industry will show the strongest growth in deployment over the next five years, at a 2.4% CAGR. Four vendors, IBM, BEA, Oracle, and TIBCO, are dominant in all eight vertical markets."
