This IDC study examines the dynamics of the router market in Asia/Pacific for the year 2002. The geographic coverage of this report includes Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, People's Republic of China (PRC), Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. The report covers all routers being shipped by international and local vendors.
"The router market registered a modest growth of 3.5% to US$1.33 billion in 2003. Of the overall Asia/Pacific router market, eight countries experienced growth with the highest being Malaysia at 59.4%, Taiwan at 34.3%, and India at 28.6%," notes Jian Sern Loo, Enterprise Networks Analyst, IDC Malaysia.
While most of the countries experienced modest to strong market growth, four countries grew negatively in 2003 ? the Philippines at -21.8%, PRC at -9.6%, Hong Kong at -8.7% and New Zealand at -0.4%.
