This IDC study provides profiles of the leading broadband service providers (SPs) in the Asia/Pacific excluding Japan (APEJ) region. This study covers the 10 key markets tracked by IDC Asia/Pacific's Broadband Markets and Technologies research: Australia, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Malaysia, the Peoples' Republic of China (PRC), the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.

"The broadband market in APEJ varies widely, with some of the most advanced markets existing in proximity to some of the most nascent. We continue to see that service providers are pushing a variety of access service tiers, hoping to find the right mix in terms of either volume- or time-based pricing formulas that will make broadband enticing to current narrowband users," said Tim Crowley, research manager, Broadband Markets and Technologies. "Service providers also continue to explore bundling of a variety of services with the goal of increasing stickiness, while also shoring up potential declines in average revenue per user."
