This IDC study shows that the consulting and systems integration (SI) market was worth US$12.6 billion in 2005. This accounted for 42.6% of the total IT services market in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ. IDC forecasts that the consulting and SI market will increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.6% over the five-year period, 2006-2010, with the APEJ consulting and SI market growing to US$29.9 billion by the end of 2010.

"In an environment of tightened IT budgets, emerging borderless global sourcing models, and technology standardizations and simplification, vendors are continually reassessing and realigning their business strategies and profit models in APEJ," says Kit Yau, senior research manager, IT Services Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
