This IDC study reveals that the system management and network management software markets continue to enjoy positive growth despite the maturity of these markets. The system management software market is estimated to be worth US$397.2 million in 2005, while the network management software market is estimated to have reached US$200 million. Australia, the PRC, and Korea have remained the largest country markets. The markets are also forecast to experience a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12% and 10%, respectively in the forecast period.
"Performance management and network availability continue to be the largest areas of spend for the system and network management software markets. As a mature market, vendors are increasingly targeting the small and medium-sized business (SMB) segment to drive new user growth, resulting in an expansion of the market ecosystem and product availability as new partners are recruited to aid this goal," says Daphne Chung, research manager, System Infrastructure and Middleware Software Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
