The Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ application server software platform (ASSP) market in 2005 is estimated to be US$197 million while the integration server software platform (ISSP) market reached US$139.6 million in the same period. Both markets experienced growth driven by a number of factors such as the positive economic climate and the increased adoption of SOA.
"The ASSP and ISSP markets continue to enjoy growth as organizations seek to become more dynamic and resolve the IT complexity issues they face in their infrastructure that has grown over the years. Along with this, the markets benefit from the two high-growth engines of the world, the People's Republic of China (PRC) and India, which have had a positive impact on adoption in these markets," says Daphne Chung, research manager, System Infrastructure and Middleware Software Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
