This IDC study provides an update on the disk storage systems market in the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ region for 1H06. The study includes a regional market overview and vendor share tables for each of the 13 countries in the region (Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, the People's Republic of China [PRC], Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam) and the rest of Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or ROAPEJ. The study also presents updated market forecasts reflecting the changed market conditions.
"The speedy growth of new storage capacity shipments continues unabated, due to the need to store and manage the ever-increasing amounts of data, the increasing complexity of applications, and the emergence of new data types. Revenue growth, however, is more muted. The People's Republic of China (PRC), Australia, and Korea are expected to remain the largest country markets over the next five years. However, IDC expects the PRC and India to be the fastest-growing country markets," says Jack Yu, market analyst, Storage Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
