This IDC study analyzes the discrete infrastructure outsourcing services market and provides a forecast outlook for the market. The key areas included in this study are network outsourcing, desktop outsourcing, and hosted infrastructure services forecast and definitions for 2006?2010 with Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ geographic and vertical breakouts.
According to Eugene Wee, senior analyst, IT Services Research, IDC Asia/Pacific, "IDC expects the IT outsourcing (ITO) market in APEJ to exceed the US$10-billion mark in 2006. Of this, more than 32% or over US$3.37 billion can be attributed to the discrete infrastructure outsourcing market. This growth can be expected to come from both mature markets that are seeing the breakup of large outsourcing contracts as well as emerging markets that are looking for incremental value (not labor arbitrage)."
"The growth in emerging markets will be primarily driven out of the People's Republic of China (PRC) where growth can be expected to reach 31.3%, making it the second-largest market in the region by 2010. The other high-growth markets would include Malaysia with a 29.3% growth rate and India with 20%," he adds.
