This IDC study presents findings for IDC's Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ Communications Survey, 2006 that queried the enterprises on their current and future plans for enterprise mobility in 11 key markets in the region. The markets include Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, the People's Republic of China (PRC), the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. The survey findings presented here focus on mobility adoption pattern and spending plans of enterprises in the region. To get better insights into the trends related to enterprise mobility, the survey results are segmented in terns of country, industry vertical, and company size. This survey will help enterprise mobility vendors and mobile operators understand the trends among enterprises in different regions and industry verticals to embrace mobility. The study will give vendors useful directions on enterprises mobility plans, motivations, and concerns for the next two years. This will help vendors align their go-to-market strategy with the enterprises' plans.
"The results from the survey show that the drive for mobility is stronger from large enterprises in the region where line of business is progressively asking for mobility solutions for productivity enhancement. Enterprises in certain industry verticals are also showing a growing commitment to deploy WLAN for on-premise coverage." says Shalini Verma, senior market analyst, Enterprise Mobility Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
