This IDC study sizes, analyses, and forecasts the Australian LAN and wireless LAN (WLAN) networking equipment market for 2004?2009. LAN infrastructure has become a necessity for most enterprises in Australia today, particularly as voice and data are increasingly converged over one network, whereas WLAN infrastructure is now progressively part of enterprises' workforce mobility strategy.

"Today, vendors need to tailor end-to-end solutions, through inbred solutions or strategic partnerships, to suit the various segments in the enterprise and SME market to create sticky, high-value, ongoing relationships instead of one-off commercial transactions, ensuring long-term profitability and growth," said Shing Quah, associate analyst, Telecommunications.
