It is widely recognised that broadband markets have generally become increasingly competitive over the past five years. However, within the broadband industry there are different levels of competition, all of which bring slightly different benefits to the consumer in terms of service choice. In Ovum’s comment piece ‘What makes for good competition?’ we outlined what we believe to be the important criteria, and listed the top ten competitive countries based on those criteria. This report now benchmarks those countries against each other, based on subscriber penetration, price, sheer number of competitors and the broadband value-added services on offer.
