This IDC study examines and analyses the buying behaviours, purchasing criteria, and spending forecasts for mobile devices, including notebook PCs and smart handheld devices (SHDs) in Australia organisations with more than 250 employees. It provides guidance on how end users foresee the market in terms of their own spending and provides vendor analyses in terms of strengths and weaknesses based on the survey findings in relation to vertical industry, company size, and region.
"The overall mobile computing market is pegged for strong growth over the next 12 months, with more organisations embracing more holistic and end-to-end mobile solutions to meet their business needs. The heightened competition in the market means that the incumbent vendors will have no choice but to reassess their product offerings as well as reevaluate their marketing and channel strategies in order to meet the evolving needs of the business community. Vendors seeking to safeguard their current market shares as well as grow their businesses should take heed of the ensuing guidance based on the survey results," says Mercie Clement, market analyst, PC Hardware Research, IDC Australia.
