This second part of the Yankee Group US International Carrier Scorecard rates communications service providers (CSPs) relative to their apparent capabilities to meet enterprises’ demands for increasingly flexible services.

Today’s “Anywhere Enterprises” must have access to secure and reliable communications services that support their employees’ professional and personal applications anywhere they want to use them. Because employees use a wide range of devices to access services, CSPs must also prepare to bring to market services that recognize the context (i.e., physical and logical) in which the end user wants to work while supporting the appropriate levels of authentication, security and mobility. To grow into this position, CSPs must decide if they want to provide a complete customer experience or communications infrastructure. Do they want to move up the ICT stack or maintain a more modest, but less risky, business of providing network “plumbing”?

This Yankee Group Report leverages in-depth interviews and briefings with the major CSPs operating in the United States. It combines metrics established by end users responding to the Yankee Group 2005 Global Network Strategies Survey as well as measurements that take into account evolving customer requirements established across Yankee Group’s enterprise research.
