This study quantifies the multifunction peripheral (MFP) markets in Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia and analyzes market trends and future outlook. It contains IDC's review and forecast of the MFP markets for 2005-2009. Information on unit shipments, value of shipments, and average selling price is presented. For the purpose of this study, IDC quantifies only laser and inkjet-based machines. IDC understands that there are also thermal-transfer faxes with MFP capabilities; according to our research, however, these are very rarely used as truly functional MFPs. The data and trend information in this study was compiled through in-depth interviews with marketing and product management executives of MFP vendors and their channel partners.
"The Central Europe MFP market was highly dynamic again in 2004 and should remain so in the coming years. In the laser segments, low ASPs are the key to winning SoHo customers. With businesses demanding more than just hardware, vendors really need to push their document solutions and services." ? Tobias Kleu, Research Analyst, IDC CEMA
