"2005 was the last year of China's 10th Five-Year Plan. Accordingly, the country's egovernment development entered a new stage in 2006; having completed the national egovernment framework, the government began to transform from administration-oriented to services-oriented operations, reflected in the service-administration alignment approach of egovernment development. The government informatization market was estimated at US$4.06 billion in 2005. IDC forecasts the government IT market will amount to US$7.55 billion by 2010, with a 2005-2010 compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.2%, one percentage point higher than that of the overall IT market in China. The 2005 government IT solutions market was estimated at US$457.51 million, and by 2010 the market will grow to US$949.39 million with a 2005-2010 CAGR of 15.7%," says Freda Tong, senior analyst, Vertical Research Group, IDC China.
