In this IDC study, we discuss that as the China banking industry fully opens up and competition intensifies, small and medium-sized banks will constantly search for channels to enhance operation strength and develop potential. Some of the effective urban commercial banks choose to be listed, while other small-scale urban commercial banks choose to merge and reconstruct, trying to expand business rapidly, and produce a scale effect. Meanwhile, the whole national economy's healthy and sound development and supervision and control departments' policy orientation have also provided excellent opportunity for small and medium-sized banks' fast development. As the transformation of business operation and management mode, small and medium-sized banks' IT system construction will also be upgraded year over year (YoY).

In 2007, small and medium-sized banks IT solution market occupied 15.4% of the whole banking IT solution market, with a market scale of RMB 0.95 billion. As the development of small and medium-sized banks continue to grow fast, the investment of its IT solutions will also grow fast. Quaint Li, analyst, IDC vertical industries researches and consultation service department, says that "risk management is the most concerned issue by small and medium-sized banks' IT staff. Meanwhile, the construction of the new channel will also be the construction key point for every bank as the next step, in which, there are 47% banks that will choose electronic channels (including Internet banking, telephone banking, and mobile banking), and the development will be included in their next 2 - 5 years' informational planning."
