Joint Force Commanders are increasingly looking to exploit the largest manoeuvre area on the face of the earth: the sea. The projection of direct and decisive power from secure, flexible and fully networked sea bases offers a compelling solution to the military and political need for an alternative to basing expeditionary forces in volatile regions - where vital friends and interests are threatened by widely dispersed and increasingly dangerous adversaries. The projection of force from a maritime base will enable strategic, operational and tactical pressure points to be nullified with minimal risk during times of crisis, and accelerate force deployment and employment timelines.

Maritime Force Projection will enable the concepts, requirements and ongoing programmes involved in the projection of force from a maritime base to be discussed. The event follows on from SMi's well-established and extremely successful Seabasing conference series, and will undoubtedly become one of the major events in the ‘global’ calendar.

Maritime Force Projection will focus on the ‘vision’ and desired capabilities of the major players. In particular, it will address the issues of seabase ‘purity’, capability and size, and how a seamless and truly organised Joint Force Projection concept will enhance the ability to manoeuvre (strategically, operationally, and tactically) without many of the impediments inherent in land based operations. Two other fascinating areas that will be discussed include: the challenge of connecting the seabase to the Advanced Support Base, and the increasing requirement for a humanitarian relief capability to be ‘built in’ to the seabase.

An international speaker line up includes Keynote Addresses from:
