| This IDC study is based on DM Review's Annual Readership Survey and presents
segmentation information for the data warehousing (DW) market by warehouse size
and complexity. All indications in the DW market point to continued growth as
data volumes and the numbers of end users accessing data from DWs increase.
Both trends are based on an increased awareness of the benefits of business
analytics. However, not all DWs are created equal.
"By identifying four distinct market segments based on data warehouse size and
complexity, this study presents both software and services vendors with
characteristics of these data warehousing groups and provides guidance for
capitalizing on opportunities provided by them." ? Dan Vesset, research
manager, Analytics and Data Warehousing
