This IDC Insight (which is a translation of Japanese report IDC #J9450154) provides a qualitative analyses, by industry and by solution, of the impact of the rapid changes in the current economic environment on the Japan storage market. The business performance of Japan companies has been deteriorating due to the impact of the worldwide sag in demand and the high value of the yen, and this is accompanied by an increasing tendency to curtail IT spending. This study also aims to identify industry sectors and to present storage solutions where storage spending is expected to continue or increase even in the recession.
