The deployment of fiber optics in Europe, though increasing strongly, is lagging behind the pace projected by the PTTs a couple of years ago. European countries have progressed less smoothly than projected; conflicting standards and unofficial "buy domestic" policies still prevail, and are detracting from growth.
This study provides an analysis and ten-year forecast of the European consumption of fiber optic communication components. The European market is segmented into the following geographic regions: Germany; France; Italy; the United Kingdom; and the Rest of Europe.
