industry in 2002. It ranks the 100 largest IT services providers based on IT
services revenue generated in Western Europe, and also provides a company

According to Khalid Irshad, senior analyst in IDC's European Services group,
"2002 was another difficult year for the European IT services industry, with IT
investment declining as the economy deteriorated and business confidence
stalled. The challenging economy caused a significant shift in spending
patterns, with discretionary spending on discrete consulting and systems
integrations services reducing and an increase in outsourcing interest as IT
departments tried to optimize existing investments and reduce operating costs.
However, it was not all doom and gloom, with 46 of the top 100 vendors growing
European services revenue by a total of $4 billion and another 20 vendors
seeing flat growth. The opportunities are sill out there ? it's just that
vendors have to increasingly fight harder to win them."
