Fire Protection Equipment: 2001
| Key Note estimates that the market for active fire protection equipment grew by 10% in 2000, to reach £877m at end-user prices.
Active fire protection includes fire detection and alarm systems, portable extinguishers, fixed extinguishing systems, fire hoses and some small product subsectors, such as fire blankets. The design, installation and maintenance of systems account for a substantial part of the market for detection and alarm systems and fixed fire extinguishing systems. In the case of portable fire extinguishers, after-sales servicing accounts for around half the market. This report covers these and several other important topics.
