| E-financial services in Latin America is quickly becoming one of the more important Internet initiatives, capturing a major share of resource and budgetary allocation in most major Latin financial institutions. Viewed increasingly as a transformative technology that dramatically enhances the way a financial institution can reach, acquire, and retain customers, the Internet is receiving a great deal of attention from senior management. More and more banks in the region recognize the potential of the Internet as a delivery channel for basic financial transactions such as transfers from one account to another, bill payment, and payment of bank-issued credit card bills.
