This document updates InfoTrends' 2005 study on the Future of the Document. This year's version includes analysis of the end-user research that was conducted by InfoTrends via a Web-based survey of the Western European market in November 2006. This document focuses on the results of that survey. A presentation detailing this year’s survey results has also been published.

This end-user survey is conducted annually to establish significant trends concerning equipment usage. This marks the third year that this study was conducted, and comparisons will be drawn with the results of earlier studies when appropriate. Nevertheless, the majority of the information in this document will relate to the data that was collected at the end of 2006.
