Guide to Marketing POF Products to the Automobile Industry
|

This "Guide to Marketing POF Products to the Automotive Industry" has been prepared as the result of many hours of research to determine the key "movers and shakers" when it comes too the introduction of POF into the auto field. Once it has been decided by the auto manufacturers (OEMs) to go with POF, then it is up to the equipment suppliers (Tier 1 and 2) to develop the components, systems and subsystems.
Therefore, in order to sell into the auto industry, it is necessary to promote products and systems to the following groups of stakeholders:
- Auto manufacturers (OEMs)
- Tier 1 and 2 system and subsystem suppliers
- Equipment manufacturers (ie. audio, navigation)
- Aftermarket suppliers
These stakeholders will be responsible for supplying the following types of automotive equipment:
- Wiring Harness manufacturers
- Equipment suppliers (audio, navigation, airbags, etc.)
- Aftermarket suppliers
- Systems suppliers
- Subsystem suppliers
- Software suppliers
- Consultants
- Publishers
- Standards organizations
IGI used the following sources of names in putting together this guide. The names were then verified through:

- Publications
- IGI lists

- Press releases
- Articles
- SAE lists
