This quarterly study follows the performance of some of the largest hardware
vendors, providing IDC views of the situation and recommendations on how to
proceed.
"The vastly improved performances exhibited by the major vendors of the past
quarter indicate a definite change in the IT climate that has been supported by
an improving world economy. 2004 will be a year of gradual repair as companies
finally upgrade and renew their necessary hardware. It will be a year of a
long-awaited recovery and with growing business and consumer confidence, 2004
should be an altogether brighter year for the IT market," said Fung-Yee Tang,
consultant, EMEA Systems Group.
