This IDC study, which is a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J8120111, presents the Japan disk storage system market's actual performance from 1H06 to 1H08 as well as forecasts up to 2012. Both shipment records and forecasts were analyzed in terms of revenue and capacity shipment. The 1H07-1H08 supplier shares were analyzed based on revenue, capacity shipment, and unit shipment. The Japan disk storage system market was analyzed by OS, installation environment (direct-attached storage [DAS]/storage area network [SAN]/network-attached storage [NAS]), external/internal, captive/non-captive, and distribution channel (direct/indirect sales).
