"In addition, common applications in today's market such as MP3, gaming, digital cameras, smart cards, multi-cast video, Web sessions, and mobile TV are further driving the demand for higher technology oriented test equipment."
The introduction of newer technologies such as 10 gigabit Ethernet in the LAN/WAN test equipment market is also greatly influencing growth. Test vendors are focusing on higher range of gigabits as there have already been 40 gig deployments in the market. In addition to voice and video services, there have been specific deployments for data transfer technologies, which are enhancing the market growth.
Growth in Private Enterprises to Generate Substantial Revenues in LAN/WAN Test Equipment Markets
The private enterprises formed the second largest end user segment in 2006 and its demand has increased since then. Online trading, e-commerce, and triple play have been augmenting the private enterprises environment. Hence, the need for IT networks and the importance to test these networks have become critical. Security issues such as leakage losses and breaching necessitate the use of test equipment that can cope with emerging technologies.
