This IDC study examines the market for landline-based services for businesses using access line counts as a leading indicator of the segment's overall health. "Competitive pressure as well as the adoption of VoIP will have a negative effect on traditional landline services for small business from 2003 through 2008," said William Stofega, senior research analyst in IDC's Residential and Small Business Telecommunications Services programs. "However, data services revenue will increase at a healthy 5.7% CAGR."
