Latin America Internet Market Statistics, 2002-2011
|

Latin America had 30 million internet connections at the end of 2006, consisting of 11 million broadband and 19 million dial-up connections.
We anticipate the next five years being a period of high growth in internet connections for the region as broadband begins to penetrate households of lower-middle and lower classes. Besides increasing coverage of telecommunications infrastructure, a key driver to broadband growth will be an increase in households with personal computers (PCs) as affordability of computers improves. We anticipate developments in IPTV to result in around 700,000 IPTV households by 2011, aided by consumers migrating to faster broadband speeds.
