Recognizing that the device is the final site of fulfillment of the promise of networks and technologies, device vendors are seeking to design, build, and ship new devices with sharper displays, expanded functionalities and storage capacities, new form factors, and greater computing power. Innovation in devices is, in turn, driving changes in industry business models, creating opportunities for new entrants in service creation and application development as well as service provisioning.
