Today, more than 100 multinationals have active R&D centers in India. But the India R&D story is just starting to unfold as many more companies are currently either evaluating an India Center or are in the process of setting one up. Once you decide to set up an India Center, the next big question is where? Which Indian cities are the front-runners in terms of access to people, infrastructure, and overall cost?
This report investigates Ten Indian Cities using five key criteria as drivers and inhibitors. Each of these criteria is further researched through multiple sub criteria. Utilizing a quantitative analysis, this report provides an objective basis for scoring and ranking the cities. Our geometric ranking model is shown to be more sensitive than the weighted arithmetic ranking used in other reports.
This report builds on our experience with Chemical, Materials, Pharmaceuticals & Agro-chemicals R&D Centers and an extensive knowledge of Indian cities and concludes that the leading Indian cities of the future are just starting to emerge and be recognized. Utilizing this knowledge offers a long-term strategic advantage for companies planning to set-up or expand their India R&D presence. For other industries, JBT can provide a custom study for relevant criteria.
