This past year has seen the introduction of a new type of OSS that takes advantage of the ASP delivery method. ASP providers seek to take advantage of two key problems that telecommunications carriers have with traditional OSS: high cost of software and slow time to market. This month’s CLEC Issues will start by examining the ASP Industry in general and then look specifically at the benefits and problems with using the ASP delivery method for the OSS systems of telecommunications carriers.
