This IDC study evaluates the leading outsourcing vendors by seven vertical industries: financial services, manufacturing, retail/wholesale, communications, utilities, healthcare services, and government.

"While the outsourcing services macromarket is dominated by the large IT services firms like IBM and EDS, process outsourcers such as Hewitt and Convergys have taken their place in the top 10 and even top 3 in several verticals this year. This is reflective of the growth in business process outsourcing and the somewhat smaller deals witnessed on the IT outsourcing side," states Jason Spaulding, research analyst, IDC Services Vertical Views."
