This IDC study profiles the local business process outsourcing (BPO) players in Australia. Interviews and meetings were conducted by IDC with representatives from these local service providers to ascertain their capabilities and to get their viewpoints on the local outsourcing market. This study is part of the inaugural Asia/Pacific BPO program which also covers local insights for Korea, China, India, and the rest of Asia/Pacific (ROAP). IDC aims to provide local BPO insights beyond the traditional big players to give a different angle to BPO through the eyes of these "local hero" companies.
"The Australian BPO market is large and complex and is among the most mature in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ. It would be interesting to see how the recently proposed Industrial Relations reforms will impact the growth of BPO in Australia as companies factor in outsourcing amid these changes. In a mature market like Australia, BPO vendors need to clearly show how their services add value and help companies drive toward achieving business results," says Conrad Chang, senior analyst, BPO Services, IDC Asia/Pacific.
