The IT systems industry is on the cusp of some of the most fundamental changes since the emergence of PC servers—changes that will increasingly shift the sweet spot of the server industry and fundamentally change the requirements for systems vendor success. Although many of these shifts will take years to play out, vendors must already be well along in the process of building foundations to support this evolution.
This report evaluates the capabilities, goals, strategies and likely execution of four key system vendors—IBM, HP, Dell and Sun. It provides individual vendor updates from our last year's assessments and assesses how the system vendor competition will play out as dynamic computing capabilities become the most critical vendor differentiators in the coming years.
Read this Report to Learn:
Which vendors do customers view as most strategic to helping them implements their server and storage strategies over the next three years;
What is the overall positioning of IBM, HP, Dell and Sun in the systems industry and how has it changed over the past year; and
What are the competitive differentiators for each vendor and their prospects for broad, long-term success.
