This IDC Presentation, which was given to clients and the IDC Tracker team on September 20, 2006, in San Diego, California, at the IDC PC Tracker Client Council, gives an overview of the current U.S. PC market, how it compares to history, and the future outlook and discusses what happens to the PC after its use. After briefly looking at the segment and channel distributions, we discuss the hot topic of ewaste and what PC vendors should look for, as well as how they might improve their current recycling policies.
