Video Content Services will become a leading edge portion of all Premium Subscription Services offered via the Internet. Companies that provide the Video Content itself will have multiple opportunities to earn revenues.
This report presents forecasts for subscribers, and revenues for four categories of stand-alone web portals that directly sell subscriptions and Pay-per-View items:
- Premium ISP Services - such as MSN Premium
- Sports Video Services - such as MLB Advanced Media
- Movie & TV Services - such as MovieLink and CinemaNow
- Other Video Services that are just beginning to emerge
The report also provides analysis and forecasts for revenue sharing that will flow from the larger Premium ISP Services to the other three categories.
By 2009, our forecast model predicts a worldwide subscriber base in excess of 49 million. The retail value of combined subscription and pay-per-view services will grow to US$ 2.6 Billion, with a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 45.1% for non-adult video content delivered via the Internet.
