In the Second Quarter of 2006, total worldwide sales for LAN
Switch equipment rose 2.8 percent quarter-to-quarter to $3.8
billion. The top market share leaders in Q1 were Cisco, Hewlett
Packard, Nortel and Foundry with 70.9, 4.8, 3.2, and 2.1
percent, respectively.
Fixed revenues were up only 1.6 percent in Q2. Cisco and HP
maintained their market share lead with 67.2 and 5.6 percent
share, respectively. However, NETGEAR continued to claim
market share in its rise from 1.4 percent in Q2 05 to 3.0 percent
in Q2 06. More dramatically, its Q2 05 port market share grew
to from 8.1 percent to 18.0 percent in Q2 06.
