This Financial Insights report summarizes the key findings of a major small and medium-sized business online payment preferences survey conducted by Financial Insights from December 2005 to March 2006. A total of 8,697 employees from small and medium-sized businesses ? in 22 countries ? that have access to the Internet were asked about their online payment options and preferences, specifically, payment usage and preferences referring to goods and services that are bought and sold online.
"Companies need to look beyond a card-only world for the online B2B marketplace. By supporting alternative payment methods, further revenue and client opportunities exist for both financial institutions and vendors," states Financial Insights research analyst Sean O'Dowd.
