This IDC Flash discusses SSA Global's announced purchases of Epiphany and Boniva, which continue the company's expansion path to build out its solution set and seek out new vertical opportunities through acquisitions. Having secured more than 13,000 midmarket and large corporate customers, SSA Global is using the acquisitions to shore up its product offerings and to compete directly with SAP and Oracle in the Global 2000 space. SSA Global, which has seen its stock jump by more than one-third since it went public in May 2005, is expected to use that momentum to expand into other markets such as supplier relationship management, project portfolio management, and composite applications to round out its service oriented architecture strategy.
