It introduces the advantages of Serial ATA (SATA), Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), and Fibre Channel (FC) drives and market perspectives from end users and vendors. "Single drive support architecture will not survive today because of data diversity and applications' demands. Enterprise users now have to consider the multiple drive support to existing business applications. With the inner shifts of data type, a future use of SATA and SAS will take over the place where the FC drive stands today. Another challenge is from the solid state disk (SSD) and the price issue associated with technology innovation. Green and its features are largely affecting the disk drive invention.
