Singapore Telecommunications Report Q3 2007

While there was little in the way of change in our forecasts, the focus of Singapore’s mobile operators onthe development of next generation networks continued to present encouraging signs, with take-up ofvalue-added services impressive. For the first time, the country’s 3G sector reported a subscriber base alittle over one million customers. This not only represented an increase of 22% during Q107, but resultedin almost a quarter of all mobile subscribers now signing up to 3G services. Data and non-voice servicesas a percentage of ARPU have been on the rise for all Singapore’s mobile operators. SingTel Mobileannounced that in Q107, data services accounted for 30% of ARPU, StarHub’s non-voice services as apercentage of postpaid ARPU stood at 21%, while M1 reported that non-voice services accounted for22% of blended ARPU - these percentage levels are all expected to continue growing.
