This IDC study examines the market opportunity for smart TVs ? defined as digital televisions that offer IP network connectivity and the ability to play back content from nontraditional video sources, such as PCs, networked hard drives, or other IP-based sources. "The market opportunity for smart TVs will not be large in the near term, but we do believe it will grow to a sizable market by the end of the decade.
