Our overall view of Somera is that as the US telecom market took a nosedive in 2002, Somera’s domain in the equipment supply and repair also went through some tough times. We think that the firm’s performance going forward will improve substantially. While Somera does not have a significant presence in the handset domain, we feel that this is actually an opportunity for ASSPs to partner with an established player in the US network repair and brokerage market. There are significant synergies between Somera’s wireless network equipment supply and repair model and ASSPs specializing in handset repair.
