This study looks at the development of the mobile communications services markets in Southeastern Europe. The study includes five-year forecasts for the mobile communications services markets of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Kosovo, Montenegro, Romania, and Serbia. Data is segmented into subscription numbers split by prepaid and contract accounts. The study analyzes end-user spending on voice, SMS, and other mobile data services.
"The challenge for operators in the Southeastern Europe mobile communications services market will be to retain or increase their current market share while preparing for the onset of a saturated market environment. Key issues will be preventing a sharp drop in ARPU when low-spending customers are the only ones that have not yet adopted services, and finding customers for expensive data services in highly price-sensitive markets? " - Kre-imir Alic, Senior Analyst, IDC CEMA
