Disney Mobile was officially announced April 5th, 2006 and includes a number of carefully designed services that should have strong appeal for families, especially those with younger children. Disney Mobile is the second Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) from Disney (the first was Mobile ESPN), and questions remain about whether it is ready for the market and if the market is ready for a Disney Mobile MVNO. This report attempts to answer those questions with information culled from several In-Stat reports about the adoption of family rate plans, family use of mobile phones and attitudes toward MVNOs.
