The Taiwanese WLAN Industry, 2Q 2009
| This report presents shipment volume and value forecast and recent quarter review of the Taiwanese WLAN industry. The report examines shipment volume and value, manufacturer volume rankings, and shipment by maker. The report includes WLAN NIC and AP shipment by technology and WLAN NIC shipment by interface, price trends, and MAC/BB and RF providers' market share. Production locations, shipment destinations, business types, and customer portfolios are also examined. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with WLAN makers. The report finds that Taiwanese WLAN NIC (Network Interface Card) shipment volume declined 5.5% sequentially to 36.16 million units in the first quarter of 2009, while WLAN AP (Access Point) shipment volume fell 11.4% to 691,000 units. In the second quarter of 2009, the industry's NIC and AP shipment volumes are expected to see sequential growth.
