This IDC Insight explores the fascinating phenomenon that was almost unthinkable only a few years ago in the APEJ region - that Manila should dare challenge Bangalore for a piece of the BPO pie. Over the course of the past few months in 2005, IDC visited BPO centers in both Bangalore and Manila, interviewed service providers and end users, as well as examined the potential of both cities from different angles that impact BPO, such as capabilities, infrastructure, government support, and quality of BPO delivery, among others. This insight is of interest and value to both service providers as well as buyers of BPO services in answering the following questions:
What are the alternative options in BPO delivery locations other than India? How formidable and capable are these alternative BPO locations? What are the characteristics of these alternative centers that might be helpful in assisting organizations in making informed decisions on BPO?
