Introduction

Datamonitor's Technology Trends survey of 500 IT decision makers shows how the current penetration levels and investment plans in IT systems management vary by geography, vertical market and company size. An analysis of the results reveals the size of investments, enterprises' channel and outsourcing preferences as well as perceptions of the leading vendors.

Scope

Provides an overview of current market penetration for six IT systems management solutions. Analyses enterprises' investment plans by geography, vertical and company size. Reviews enterprises' outsourcing and deployment preferences as well as assessing the most influential positions for making investment decisions. Discovers which IT systems management vendors have the greatest mindshare.

Highlights

Enterprises were asked about their usage and investment plans in six different IT systems management technologies. Although there are variations in the current adoption levels, ranging from 50% for data center management to 65% for network management solutions, the penetration is set to increase by similar proportions for each of the technologies. Although Datamonitor expects outsourcing to remain the preference of a small minority, the number of enterprises that would consider outsourcing is set to increase over the next two years and may reach an adoption level of 30%. Although outsourcing has never been a mainstream solution, it is gaining importance as IT systems gain complexity. Three large vendors have over 80% of mindshare, indicating that this market is relatively consolidated. This is unsurprising due to the maturity and high penetration of IT systems management solutions. The reason that Microsoft is well-respected may be due to enterprises' tendency to select vendors they are familiar with.

Reasons to Purchase

Find key geographies and vertical markets planning investments in IT systems management over the next two years to aid your go-to-market strategy. Understand enterprises' outsourcing preferences by geography and learn how this is likely to change. Discover which IT systems management vendors have the greatest mindshare.
